By the end of ADWD there is basically Tommen and his disgraced mother left. The other major Lannisters have either gone rogue or are dead. There is no major Lannister left to command the House. And no one is loyal to them beyond what they are paid for. In my opinion House Lannister will be gone by the end of the series.
Joffery took the Lannister name, and ruled as the new king. This technically made the House Lannister an Andal house, although they did keep their First Men name. 11. Their Greatsword Brightroar Is Lost. At one time in their history, the Lannisters possessed a great sword made of Valyrian steel, named Brightroar.
Stannis’ troops almost get the better of the Lannisters, despite Tyrion leading a fierce fight. But when Tywin’s troops arrive to help at the last minute, the capital city remains under Lannister control. With Tywin in the city, Tyrion is replaced as Hand of the King. He brings his mistress, a prostitute named Shae (Sibil Kekilli), with him
When the Lannister King realized the battle was lost he retreated and knelt to Aegon. He could just as easily have been proud and arrogant and died in the battle; probably wiping out the Lannisters. So while it couldve gone better for the Lannisters throughout history, it could also have gone a lot worse.
Much like Tommen Baratheon, Cersei Lannister's middle child, Myrcella, went largely overlooked until later seasons of Thrones, thanks to her overbearing older brother, Joffrey.
The romance of Cersei (Lena Headey) and Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) in Game of Thrones was banned and treated as a dirty secret in Westeros, even though Targaryens had ruled the country for centuries while wedding brother to sister. In both Game of Thrones and the A Song of Ice and Fire books the show is based upon, audiences are
Over the show's eight seasons, various kings and queens sat on the Iron Throne, including the third child of Jaime and Cersei Lannister, Tommen. He succeeded to the throne after his brother Joffrey was murdered, only to meet an untimely end in Season 6 when he leaped to his death from a window. So why was Tommen’s death so largely ignored by

Mace wishes for King Tommen to declare Margaery innocent, but Lord Regent Kevan Lannister argues against the idea, knowing it would mean that the whispers of accusation would follow Margaery forever. Kevan quietly wonders why Mace insists on having his army present when Margaery faces her accusers, if she is as innocent as Mace would have them
Joffrey died at his own wedding to Margaery Tyrell, Myrcella was poisoned by Ellaria Sand in Dorne, and Tommen took his own life following his mother’s callous decision to blow up the Sept of Baelor in King’s Landing. Cersei, who was crowned queen after Tommen’s death, was expecting her fourth child with Jaime at the time of their deaths.
Margaery, the newly crowned queen of the realm, bit it in a pretty epic way. Since it has been a long minute since the finale, you may need a refresher on how exactly Margaery died on Game Of Thrones.
The Red Wedding. This is actually one of the best examples of Tywin Lannister doing whatever needs to be done to resolve a current conflict but ensuring that eventually, the conflict will arise again. The Red Wedding was one of the most brutal defeats of a rebellious house in Westerosi history, but the fact that House Lannister was willing to
